We are pet friendly! Pets are an additional $30 per night, per pet, plus tax (maximum of two). Pets must be well-behaved and potty trained. If you leave the house, please take your pet(s) with you or crate them. Pets cannot be left unattended inside the house while you are gone. Pets should be kept off the furniture please. Pets should not be left unattended outside. Please be sure to clean up after your pet, both inside and outside.

Checkout may be extended if we don't have a reservation immediately following yours. Please message us to request a late checkout. We’re also happy to allow you to check in early if the house is ready. We go out of our way to give our guests as much time as possible in the house. We’ve almost always been able to grant early check ins/late check outs. Snow season is the busiest time of year when we may not be able to allow an early check in/late check out, but we do our best to accommodate all requests.

There are trash and recycling bins for weekly municipal trash pick-up service. You are welcome to use them, assuming they are not already full. We try not to ask our guests to take their trash to the dump. Instead, we pay a service to handle it. We just ask that you please throw your trash away in the bins by the driveway and make sure the lids are closed to avoid animals rummaging for food. Guests are responsible for taking any trash that doesn't fit to one of the city's trash dump sites at the end of each stay.

All weekends require a minimum of 2 nights' stay. All holiday weekends require a minimum of 3 nights’ stay.

Remember to carry tire chains or cables in your car during winter months. Snow removal and berm reduction for the street is provided by the city. Some shoveling may be required of the guest to gain access. If > 4" of snow falls, the parking pad will be plowed and the front steps down to the front door will be cleared, but we can make no guarantees for the timing, especially if it was a large storm. Decks and barbeque grill may be snowed in depending on how much snow any given storm produces. A snow shovel will be provided at the home. Please stay informed of local weather and tire chain conditions. We do not offer any refunds due to weather or power outages. We recommend purchasing trip insurance to protect your stay.

There are about 20 stairs leading to the front door and one flight of stairs inside. Our guests should be able to climb stairs and generally be in good health. PLEASE USE CAUTION AND HANDRAILS WHILE WALKING UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS AT ALL TIMES. Particularly when it's wet/raining/snowing, the stairs may be icy. Guests must refrain from any horseplay on or around the stairs. Owners are not responsible for any slips, falls or injuries while at our home.

We reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund if you exceed the maximum occupancy of 7 guests, 6 adults, and 2 cars (which is dictated by our vacation rental license). Guest totals will be verified by exterior security cameras. Big Bear strictly enforces occupancy and car limitations. Note that toddlers, and infants do count as a person for purposes of our maximum occupancy of 7 people. Please notify us of your guest/dog count in advance of your stay. If you bring a pet without advance notice or if you bring more than two pets, the fee will be $100 per night, per pet. We will terminate your stay if you bring more than two pets.

We have exterior security cameras only, which face away from the house. We do not have any interior cameras. We respect our guests’ privacy. Our cameras are primarily used for security when no one is at the house. We only use them to verify guest/car counts when we have guests.

We do not provide firewood for the fireplace, but prior guests may have left unused firewood, so please check first. Firewood is easy to find in town at DIY, Vons, Stater Bros, etc., all of which are about 9 min from the house.

The barbecue grill should never be left unattended. Please clean it after use and be sure it’s covered when it’s not in use. There will be a $35 fee for our cleaners to clean the barbecue if it’s left dirty.

Any guest that violates county or city rules will be subject to paying a $350 call code attendance fee by our 24/7 call compliance staff in addition to any fines levied by the city, whether it results in a violation or not.
